Students in Choffin Career and Technical Center’s adult education program spearheaded the “Healthy Professionals Helping Hands” project to support Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley by holding a toy, clothing, and personal item drive for children hospitalized throughout the year. Staff and students presented the gifts to Jamie DeMain, manager of volunteer and guest services at the hospital. DeMain expressed to staff, students, and scholars how donations like these greatly help patients. Donations are still being accepted at Akron Children’s Hospital until December 21.
In addition to presenting the gifts, adult education students and early childhood education scholars created cards.
