Volunteering at Youngstown City School District
Thank you for considering volunteering at Youngstown City School District. Any parent, guardian, or community member who wishes to volunteer, must complete a volunteer application available on the YCSD employment website. In addition to the application process, volunteers will also complete a background check.
Volunteer assignments are based on the schools’ needs. With 14 schools, plus preschool, there are endless opportunities to play a critical role in a scholar’s life just by giving a little of your time!

What is a volunteer?
According to the the Ohio Labor Law § 553.101 “Volunteer” is defined as “an individual who performs hours of service for a public agency for civic, charitable, or humanitarian reasons, without promise, expectation or receipt of compensation for services rendered, is considered to be a volunteer during such hours.”
