Do I need to complete the FAFSA more than once?

Yes. A scholar and their contributing family members must complete the FAFSA every year they will be enrolled in college.

Where do I go to complete the FAFSA?

You can complete the FAFSA online at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. You can also complete a paper FAFSA and mail the form along with all required documents. Please note that if you complete the paper form there can be much longer wait times and delays in receiving information.

NOTE: The application for federal aid is FREE! There should never be a request to pay to complete or receive support to complete the FAFSA.

What is an FSA ID? Who needs one?

An FSA ID is a username and password combination to use to log into the US Deparment of education online systems. The FSA ID is your legal signature and shouldn't be used or created by anyone but you-not even a parent, a child, a school professional, a university, or a loan company representative. You will use your FSA ID every year you fill out the FAFSA and for the lifetime of your fedgeral student loans.

Every scholar and contributing family member will need their own FSA ID. FSA ID's take 3-5 business days to receive. You must have this BEFORE you complete your FAFSA.

How do I get an FSA ID?

Follow the link here https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch. You will need your Social Security Number (SSN) and your own personal email address that you have access to check (DO NOT use your school email).
