Several Youngstown City School Board members attended the 2024 Consortium of State School Boards Association (COSSBA) Annual Conference last week, along with hundreds of leaders in public education for a phenomenal four-day workshop. While in Dallas, TX, members shared the challenges faced in our district while collaboratively setting goals to improve the quality of education for our scholars locally and statewide. Members networked and learned how other state school boards utilize invaluable resources.
Among the various of topics discussed in daily sessions; stakeholder engagement, effective staff collaboration, Arts in the classroom, emerging technologies, increased school safety, school discipline, crisis management, mental health, board policy updates and why itās important to not only assess the Superintendent and Treasurerās progress but the Boardās performance as well.
