McKinney-Vento at Youngstown City Schools celebrated the official opening of the Rope of Hope Resource Center at Choffin CTC for YCSD families in transition.
The Center provides McKinney-Vento resources, training, and resources, including everyday needs such as food and hygiene products. The McKinney-Vento Homeless Children and Youth Act ensures that all children and youth, including preschoolers, have equal access to the same free and appropriate public education as non-homeless children and youth.
Thank you to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, Garrick Matlock and Dr. Martin Freeman, who played a crucial role in the establishment of the Rope of Hope Resource Center. Their support, along with our YCSD social workers, ensures all scholars are connected to resources to help them be successful.
